Strabala Case Ends In Not Guilty Verdict
The State of Iowa versus Joe Strabala ended with a not guilty verdict after a short jury deliberation in Judge Rogers' court. Defense attorneys were T. M. Hicher and C. J. Wilson, with S. W. Brookhart for the state. jurors included Ralph Smith and others. The Friese brothers filed the information in the prior case. The Washington Children's Chorus led by Miss Bessie Scofield will meet Saturday September 11 at ten in the store room near Ron and Nichols' Grocery for an eighteen week session costing one dollar per child. The group aims to teach singing by note, proper vocal technique, and prepares for a concert to close the term. A regular OES meeting is planned for this evening with full attendance requested.
