State Auditor Lloyd R. Smith released the Washington County audit for 1970. Total tax receipts reached 5.40 million with property taxes 4.55 million and state tax credits 831,115. Expenditures cover secondary roads, poor fund, ADC costs totaling 201,057 countywide, and funds for road clearing, hospital, fairground aid, conservation, and other accounts.
