The Washington Elementary Boys Chorus of 65 members from Brighton Stewart and Lincoln Schools will perform for the Iowa Music Educators Association in Davenport on Saturday September 20. After school rehearsals run 3 40 to 4 30 p m on Sept 9 12 16 and 19 in Lincoln Gym with the 19th as the final session.

Landfill Near Richland Set to Open Monday
The SEMCO board approved the three county landfill near Richland for opening Monday September 15 with local rep Jim Reschly stating the site will open come hell or high water. Iowa suit seeks $2 million over 1973 crash claim
Three residents filed lawsuits against Iowa for more than $2 million in damages. The largest, $2 million, by Wayne W. Johnson of Morning Sun, alleges state negligence after a 1973 crash left him permanently paralyzed. Johnson was a car passenger when it left U.S. 61 near Muscatine on July 27, 1973. In another item, Johnson County medical examiners identified two burn victims near Lake MacBride as Karen Ann Christensen and Larry Wells.
