Seventy four Strikers In Iowa Arrested
In Des Moines Iowa deputy U S marshals and railroad guards arrested seventy four violators of federal injunctions linked to the railroad strike in the southern district of Iowa. Twelve have stood trial with four convictions and four dismissals. 62 remain to be tried as federal court resumes after a ten day recess. The longest sentence was six months for Gus Hartman of Burlington for attacking a non union worker. Hartman’s case marks what is believed to be the first Clayton act jury trial in the United States.

Auto Plunges Into Niagara Gorge Killing Woman
A parked auto slid from a grass slope near the upper steel arch bridge at Niagara Falls and tumbled 200 feet into the gorge. Mrs. Agatha Miller, 54, wife of D. H. Miller of Cleveland, died in the plunge. her body was recovered ashore below the cliff. Edward Meyers of Ohio was the owner and driver who had left the car briefly. Harry Andrew and Joseph Goldberg, Buffalo and Toronto residents, worked to stop the car at the brink. G. Ke. Darling and Eustace Evans of Elkhart, Ind., witnessed the tragedy from below.

Fire Claims Seven Pennsylvanian Repairmen in Pittsburgh
A dawn fire at the Pennsylvania Railroad bunkhouse on 30th Street yards in Pittsburgh killed seven newly employed repairmen and seriously injured ten others. J. P. Butcher Cuts Abdomen In Accidental Stab Wound

Circus elephants go on wild stampede in Hanford yard
Fourteen elephants from a visiting circus broke through a fence and raided streets near the Southern Pacific yard in Hanford California at dawn. Children hid as the herd charged through yards garages and alleys. One child was saved by a worker and at least one elephant was hurt in the escape.
