A Georgia segregation group reportedly optioned a house near Richard Nixon's Augusta residence for Negro occupancy. The Georgia American Resettlement Foundation and State Rep. A. A. Fowler Jr backed the plan, citing a $75,000 home near which a unit would be moved. Fowler claimed a Negro family with 10 to 15 children would relocate into an all-white northern neighborhood within 160 days.

Leland E Keck Dies in Florida Citrus Exec Born in Iowa
Word arrived of the death of Leland E. Keck 58 a widely known citrus packing company executive. A native of Washington Iowa he came to Florida in 1934 from Lake Wales where he later served as secretary treasurer of the Sebring Packing Co. Funeral services were held in Florida. Survivors include his wife one son a brother his mother Mrs E C Keck of Orlando and three sisters.

Wayland Woman Anna Barr Dies at 87 in Sister’s Home
Wayland resident Anna Barr 87 died at her sister’s Wayland home Wednesday evening at 8. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 pm at Wayland Mennonite Church with burial in North Hill Cemetery. She was born in 1870 to Christian and Barbara Very Garick and had married Charlie Barr in Wayland. He died in 1932. Survived by sister Lena MecClintic, brother Chris Garick, and several nieces and nephews.
