Kemal Pasha accepted Mustapha Kemal Pasha’s offer to form a cabinet as Turkey declares a republic. The Angora national assembly elected Mustapha Kemal Pasha president with power to name a premier.
Andrew Bonar Law former prime minister of Great Britain died in London at age 70 after a throat illness. He resigned May 20 and lived quietly in retirement, his health failing rapidly in recent weeks. Lloyd George expressed deep regret at London and Philadelphia reactions noted in AP dispatches.
Des Moines reports Governor Kendall and Mrs Kendall returning home from an extended Hawaiian and Pacific coast vacation.
