Cedar Rapids Iowa October 28 three leaders of a major liquor ring were arrested on liquor law violations after a Des Moines agent posing as a bootlegger bought 100 gallons of alcohol. Suspects named E D Maloy Sam Holtman and Lloyd DeWitt faced federal and state charges with a fourth man at large. Maloy boasted of control over Cedar Rapids and plans to elect the county attorney.
