Audit finds high costs at Iowa state institutions
State Auditor Lorne Worthington reports three state institutions and 11 smaller agencies audited. Rockwell City Women’s Reformatory cost per inmate was 3853 with 57 admissions and 54 releases. reformatory expenses totaled 277,451, down 20,817 from last year. Glenwood State Hospital and School expended 3,023,148 with 1,046 daily attendees and 2890 per patient. Woodward State Hospital and School spent 3,060,328 with 1012 patients averaging 5024 per patient and 6,722,185 invested in Woodward property and equipment.
