The Y M C A delegates in Washington received a warm welcome and praise for their earnest Christian work. Speakers highlighted night school education, Bible study, and the district’s organization. State and local leaders urged continued effort and the formation of a regional Y M C A presence.

Brown spoke passionately, with humor, earning praise from party members who met him for a post address caucus.
Stephen Mahon of Ottumwa spoke at Rev. Robt Gray's pulpit during the Y M C A convention yesterday morning. Though not a professional preacher, Mahon is a traveling grocer from Ottumwa, earnest and active in Christian work, delivering a thoughtful address on development in the Christian life.
