French Police Fire on Miners in Paris Strife
In Paris on October 22, strikers and republican security guards fought with gunfire during the 19 day wave of communist led strikes. One miner died and ten strikers plus three guards were wounded. Brussels sources say Belgium is covertly sending coal to France to shore up the government amid the unrest. Four people died in Lille from gas-related accidents as supplies were switched on and off.
