Infant dies in Bettendorf home fire blaze
Ten month old Duane Arthur Krell perished in a Bettendorf one room home fire that gutted the dwelling Monday. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Krell, were unable to reach him as Mrs. Krell, visiting a neighbor, was driven back by flames. Officials suspect a gasoline stove boiled water and exploded, starting the blaze.

Two Arraignments Lead to Grand Jury Bindovers
John Sakulin of Richmond was arraigned before Justice J E Bovee and bound over to the grand jury on a $500 bond for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after waiving a preliminary hearing.
