Six Iowa Men Die in Weekend Auto Wrecks
A weekend of Iowa traffic toll includes the deaths of six men among football travelers. Ivo Phend and Cecil Boldt of Iowa City Moose team died when a light truck overturned near Vieter. Fred Nash of Garwin, vice president of the Garwin Savings Bank, died from injuries in a crash near Town City. Harry Elliott of Des Moines and George Hagar of Des Moines also perished in separate wrecks. Frank Harlan of Ames died later from injuries in an auto collision near Midvale. Funeral services for Thomas J. Little are set for Tuesday afternoon at two at L A Jones funeral home with Rev A A Wing of the Baptist church officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Grove cemetery. He died Sunday morning at 835 at Washington county hospital after a three week illness from a stroke. Born July 23 1863 on a farm north of Washington he lived his life there. He first married Katherine Donovan in 1885 and had several children incl Earl Carl and Glenn. He later married Nina Kearney in 1904 and had twelve children, seven living including Phil Clyde Louise Martin Donald Edith and Nina Mae.
