Riots ignited by a Chinese merchant killing a Filipino were suppressed today by police. Chinese stores reopened while arrests were made and governors ordered action as disturbances spread from Manila to Cabatuan Nueva Ecija and beyond amid a sedition case linked to a Manila newspaper canard.
Zackett McArthur aged 28 and his two year old son vanished from their Cedar Rapids home after he drove to a neighbor and left, promising to return. The wife found his belongings packed and the pair missing. Police asked to search for them.
