The Interstate Commerce Commission will begin an overall probe of class freight rate schedules in the western trunkline territory on January 11 in Omaha. A large set of individual and community rate complaints will be reviewed with the commission’s own proceedings from a September 10 conference. The inquiry covers general freight movements in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas and parts of Michigan, Missouri, Colorado and Wyoming, excluding grain and grain products. Yesterday afternoon Roy Norton crashed into Ruth Wilson’s parked Ford coupe in front of the H F Shaffer home south of town. Norton suffered five broken ribs and was taken to the hospital but not regarded as in danger. Wilson’s coupe, unoccupied, was badly crushed and will be sent to the factory for repairs. Word was received of the death of Mrs. L. C. Dougherty on Wednesday in Los Angeles California at her daughter's home.
