The WSCS of the United Methodist Church met October 14, 1968 in West Chester with 23 members. President Mrs Keith Stewart led the business session. Reports covered the UNICEF party, District Fall Mission Study Conference, Day of Prayer and Self Denial, and Election Night Supper plans. A charter service was held and an Agape Feast served. Bluebird and Camp Fire girls enjoyed a train ride and wiener roast before returning.
Crawfordsville Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star met at the Masonic Hall with Worthy Matron Donna Wilson and Worthy Patron Guy Mitchell presiding. Clarence Moorhead honored as a twenty five year member. Ada Spencer Florence Henss and Mrs. Clarence Moorhead recognized. Grand Chapter in Davenport Oct 22-24 discussed. Next meeting set as special sideliners session.
Six churches join the 1968 Richland UNICEF program set for October 29 at the Friends Church. Local drive for funds and a children's party runs 7 p.m. with costumes allowed. Older teens and adult walkers needed. past year raised about $200 with 75 children.
