Funeral Saturday for Mrs Willits in Dallas Center
Funeral services for Marguerite R. Willits will be held Saturday at 3 50 p m in the Jones funeral home with Rev Gilbert Stout of Simpson college officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove cemetery. Mrs Willits died Thursday in Des Moines after a four year illness. She was born June 15 1882 in Washington county and married Robert H Willits on December 14 1915. Survivors include her husband three daughters two Des Moines residents one Palatine Illinois daughter in law and three grandchildren.

Fire scorches 400 acres near Leon Iowa
A wildfire burned more than 400 acres of woods pastures and crops north of Nine Hales State Park near Leon Iowa. The blaze began Wednesday on a farm north of the park rekindled Thursday and spread rapidly as volunteer firemen worked to control it.
