McNeill Dies From Shotgun Wound in Farm Barn Lot
Crawfordsville October 14 Dayton McNeill about 60 a well known resident of the community was found dead in the barn lot of his home with a head wound said to be from a shotgun likely an accident. He told his wife he would take the gun to feed pigeons. Mrs McNeill heard a shot then saw his body beside the fence. Mrs McNeill summoned help and the body was found. Funeral plans were not announced. He leaves a widow two daughters Doris Owen Cotter and Mrs Taita Owen Hinots and two sons John and Forrest. He had operated a home and farm on the north edge of town along the primary road.
