Washington launches its four day Community Chest drive with a kick off dinner on Monday Oct 18 at 6 30 pm in the YMCA community room. Volunteer block captains and workers begin canvassing Oct 19 20 and 21 to reach a $23000 goal. Campaign chair Paul V Shearer notes broad support and an emphasis on every donor contribution guiding eleven local organizations. Three Chicago Youths Held On Car License Charge
Three youths aged 16 to 18 are jailed in Washington city on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without license plates. The body of Mrs. Jennie Myrtle Long, 7, was found hanging in the garage at her Brighton home. Dr. WLS Kyle, county coroner, ruled death by her own actions after an inquiry. Survived by a son Oral Long, funeral arrangements pending at Om er Hoskins. Jennie Myrtle White was born in Crawfordsville and married James E. Long in 1844. he died in 1946.
