Lost Washington boy found unharmed by volunteers
A two year old boy missing from his Washington home for about two hours was found by volunteers during a wide area search. The child wandered about 32 blocks with a pup, was located on a neighbor’s back porch, and returned home safe and well.

Tractor Runs Away Damages House In Washington Area
A large International 806 tractor escaped from International Sales and Service workers east of Washington on Highway 92 and plowed into the Evan Edwards home across the road. The tractor crossed the highway, knocked down a sign, mounted the yard, and stalled at the front entry. Mrs Edwards heard the crash while her husband worked in the field. No injuries were reported and damage included a bent rim and scratched paint. the tractor stopped after hitting the front steps. The incident occurred about 4 p.m. and left the Edwards with a damaged porch and lawn holes. The 806 is International’s largest tractor model.

An 8 year old Bennett Community School student, Michael Shane Stickermann, died at the scene after a car school bus collision northeast of Bennett Iowa. The bus driver Ronald Bauer 34 and car driver Roland Schneider 17 were hospitalized in critical condition and serious injuries. About 40 students on the fully loaded bus were shaken but several were treated and released or remained hospitalized.
