Truck Load of Turkeys Overturns in Washington
A poultry truck carrying crates of turkeys overturned Tuesday at 6 30 p m near the State theater corner on highway 92 in Washington. Driver Herbert Hoover Peck of Hawarden Iowa said he hit the hoist lever while shifting gears. The crash caused $75 in damage including a torn stop light and a knocked over highway sign. The truck, owned by Cecil Moore of Pomeroy Iowa, was unloaded and moved back onto its wheels.
