Lucy B. claimed her third consecutive pace at What Cheer amid six starters including Swanock and Sardis Ensign. She won the first heat in 2 191, then the second heat in 2 154 on a half mile track, with Swanock taking two heats and Swanock again winning the fifth heat for Foster.

Stand Collapse at State Semi Centennial Parade

At Burlington on Main street a reviewing stand for Vice-President Stevenson and dignitaries collapsed during the parade onset. Many were injured including State Treasurer Burris, Lt. Col. Rowan, and Mayor Naumann. Rescue crews and doctors attended the事故 scene as leaders and guests were moved to safety.

A special train carrying veterans Gens Sigel Sickles Alger and Corporal Tanner will arrive in the city on October 6 at 12:15 p. m. and stay about an hour. A flat car fitted for outdoor speaking accompanies the group.

Crow Sisters with Snowden Breckenridge at The Graham

The Crow Sisters with Snowden and Breckenridge present the comedy drama Jack O Diamonds next Monday evening at The Graham. Reserved parquet and balcony seats cost ten cents, with Little Marie Snowden and company offering continuous performances between acts. A possible gold watch giveaway is announced during the week.

Buffalo Bill Passes Through Ottumwa on Rock Island

This morning before daybreak Colonel Cody known as Buffalo Bill traveled from Muscatine to Ottumwa by Rock Island. The show had thirty eight cars in three divisions and drew strong crowds. Also notes H K Seiberts of Washington visiting Winfield friends and the departure of T C Cunningham and his wife and daughter to Washington.
