Francis Cupp Injured In Auto Accident Friday Night
Francis Gene Cupp ages sixteen was treated for cuts on the head and legs after an auto crash Friday at 11 30 p m east of the city near highway 92 one mile east of town and 400 feet east of the Waco Drive In Theater. Deputies said he was driving too fast lost control and the car overturned into a ditch damaging about 65 feet of fence. The 1953 model car was a total wreck.

Mrs. Alva Miller, 68, a Kalona lifelong resident, died at the University Hospital in Iowa City Friday night after a week-long stay and surgery. A Lloyd Humston tractor was destroyed by fire Friday at the Humston farm while he was repairing it after picking corn. He said a spark from wiring likely started the blaze and he moved the tractor away from structures toward open ground as flames spread.
