Mrs. F J Davis of Susanville California asked her husband to take her place at the wheel when he did not respond. She turned back to check and found him at the sheriff's office awaiting her. She had stopped seven miles earlier to let him drive but started the car again as he walked around the rear.
Iowa Attorney General Leo Hoegh asks 47 states for help in exempting WOI TV at Iowa State College from federal income taxes. He plans to appeal to the U S Tax Court, arguing the station is educational while prov iding educational programming is funded by commercial broadcasts.
Kiwanis club members saw the Ducks Unlimited film Out of the North at their Wednesday YMCA meeting. The documentary highlighted ducks and geese in northern habitats and alongmigration flyways. Guests included Lyle Gipple Join Lee and Joe Kirkpatrick.

Patrick Wallace twenty five Mason City was indicted on manslaughter after a November fifteenth crash that killed Robert Lewis twenty one of Rockford and Robert J Mooneyham nineteen of Mason City. A passenger in the car, Robert Morphew twenty six of Marble Rock, was injured when the vehicle rolled 274 feet. Police said all four had been drinking.
Clyde Roger Smith 19 Maxwell was free on 2000 bond after being charged with threatening to blow up two Des Moines supermarkets unless paid 3000. He was arraigned before Municipal Judge Howard Brooks on malicious threats to extort money from W. T. Dahl, with a preliminary hearing set for December 9.
Jefferson City Missouri United Press reports that kidnap killers Carl Austin Hall and Bonnie Brown Heady spent Thanksgiving in their death row cells. They will dine apart today and may not meet again until execution day when a final feast could be served.

William Brock, longtime resident of Columbus Junction, died Wednesday night at Restopia Nursing Home where he had been hospitalized since November 18. He earlier stayed at Bellevue hospital in Muscatine. The body lies at Stephens Funeral Home with burial planned for Columbus City cemetery. He was the son of George and Margaret Brock. his wife had died years earlier.
Lt. Col. Vojtech Bagda of the neutral nations armistice inspection team was found shot in the head in Inchon Korea. He was taken to the Consolation hospital ship for treatment of a temple wound described as serious but not life threatening. Bagda arrived six days earlier to monitor troop movements and was to depart for Communist territory with no reason given for recall.
Mrs. Uriah Miller 85 died at 1 a m at the home of son in Kalona after one day illness. Services set for 1 p m Saturday at the Helmuth home with Yoder funeral home handling arrangements. Born Susanna Troyer October 2 1868 in Howard County Indiana she married Uriah Miller December 6 1888. he died in 1942. Survivors include two daughters Mrs Peter Helmuth and Mrs Will Stutzman a son Samuel T all of Kalona and two brothers Seth Troyer Goshen Indiana Levi Troyer Mio Michigan.
