Three Injured in Auto Crash at Keota Today
Ed Streater and wife from Corydon Iowa along with one child were admitted to Washington County Hospital after a crash at the junction of highways 77 and 92 south of Keota around 9 45 this morning. Mrs Streater was reported in serious condition. The family was en route to Dubuque when ice caused the out of control crash. Three Streater children remained at a local home at noon. Mr Streater is Corydon Schools superintendent.

One Highway Death Reported in Iowa
A Thanksgiving highway fatality was recorded in Iowa as slick roads and snow slowed traffic. Mary Woolwhether, 81, of Saskatchewan, Canada, died after her car overturned on U.S. Highway 69 near Ankeny. Her son Ernest Woolwhether, 61, and his wife were injured but not seriously. The state’s 618th traffic death surpassed the prior yearly record.

The Mark Twain Zephyr was delayed 2 hours 10 minutes as a section crew removed a car from Burlington tracks in Keokuk Iowa. Police jailed two Fort Madison boys Lee Woods 19 Ronald Gutting after they drove a car along the tracks a mile before stalling near Lake Keokuk. The Chicago to Hannibal train was flagged down before reaching the car and the conductor walked a mile in two inches of snow to report it.
