The Defense Department announced a 65 million dollar intercontinental ballistic missile base will be built at Francis E. Warren Air Force Base near Cheyenne Wyoming. Charles Greathouse, 25, of Volga, robbed Farmersburg Savings Bank with a gun and coins, fled in a blackened car, and was found hiding in a haystack four hours later. Six Studies On Anti Cancer Compounds By Research Groups
The US Public Health Service announced six research organizations will work with the National Cancer Institute to produce potential anti cancer compounds. One group of compounds called antimetabolites may block cancer cell growth by disrupting metabolic processes and self repair. Laboratory tests suggest these substances interfere with cell growth and often cause cancer cells to die. Hormonal substances, both male and female, offer another promising path by altering the hormone environment that supports cancer cell reproduction.
