Lone Crash Survivor Burns After Iwo Jima Globemaster Crash
The sole survivor of a US Air Force C24 Globemaster crash on Iwo Jima suffered extremely serious burns and was taken to Tachikawa near Tokyo for treatment. The aircraft, with nine crew and two passengers, crashed seconds after takeoff from Central Air Base during a flight to Tokyo. An investigation board was dispatched to determine the cause.
