Fur raid nets 139 pelts and 700 in fines at Mount Ayr
Des Moines report says conservation officers and Ringgold County deputies seized 139 fur pelts from Jacobs Fur Co at Mount Ayr. Pelts included 138 muskrat and one mink. Owners Dean and William Jacobs pleaded guilty to seven counts of possession of illegally taken muskrat and paid 100 dollars on each count.

May Augment Police By Reserve Corps
Des Moines Iowa police departments may be augmented by a reserve corps as a civilian defense measure. The idea was proposed at the FBI defense training school and approved by 30 Iowa peace officer officials attending the classes. 1840 Coin Found at Fort Atkinson Site

Grady Faces Possible Prison Term After Assault Case
Grady Earl Grady was jailed on a charge of assault and battery after allegedly beating Milton McCarty in Grady residence northeast Washington. County Attorney John C.
