President Roosevelt dominates Memphis homecoming festivities for General Luke E. Wright with four speeches and receptions. Notable attendees include Governor McMillan and General Wheeler. Crowds cheer Mrs Wright as the event honors Wright and his Confederate family ties.
A large reception for General Wright drew 3 000 colored attendees praising his role during two yellow fever epidemics twenty years earlier when he stayed to care for the sick. The scene was vibrant as the president spoke, the audience sang, and the party departed for Washington at midnight without stops.
Admiral Winfield Scott Schley was honored at the Commercial Club annual banquet before a crowd of about 500. Notables including Captain A. Rowan General John C. Bates and others joined the naval hero in a day of honors with a parade reception luncheon and formal banquet events.
In Montpelier Vermont on November 20 supporters of the straight high license local option bill held a caucus and pledged to back the license measure. The meeting was harmonious and orderly.
Rasmus Jo Hanson, Union Pacific shops foreman, finds four girls missing after night return. An expressman reports transporting the children with a veiled woman to Northwestern station. J Tierpont Morgan of New York donated 1 cent to the Woman's League of the Congregational church in Flint Michigan. At a social event members recounted earning small sums for society work and one woman who had earned cents wrote to Morgan for another cent. He replied with a courteous note and a coat and assured future help if Flint or the league faced a tight place.
Deputy Game Warden Edward L. Tracy led a crackdown off Milwaukee and seized the tug Meyer and a gasoline launch. More than a mile of nets were confiscated along with 150 pounds of lake trout as six arrests followed the first operation. Connell Bluffs proprietors White law and Gardner assign for creditors with 37,000 liabilities and 25,000 assets.

Grand Rapids reports that Post master Herendeen of Baldwin, fined $200 for an illegal lottery scheme in village lot disposals, was greeted at the station by his pastor, town officials, and prominent citizens who assured support and trust as they escorted him home.
