Washington Baptist Church observed its 110th anniversary with all day services, morning and afternoon programs, and a homegrown program featuring Rev. Alfred Trenerry, greetings from former pastors, music director Mrs. Paul Thayer, and readings by Irene Yard. Missionaries Lawrence Scrapter spoke in the evening with Alaskan pictures, and the day concluded with a dedication of a new communion set and recording equipment. The homecoming poem by Fannie E E Gilbert closed the day.

Services Today for Mrs Nellie Brown in Brighton
Funeral services for 74 year old Nellie Brown were held at 2 p.m. today at the Omar Hoskins funeral home in Brighton with Rev. Voss and R. W. Killmore officiating. Burial followed in Brighton cemetery. She died Saturday at Washington county hospital after a long illness dating from August 4. She was born January 31, 1877 in Henry county and married Homer Brown on April 7, 1909. Survivors include daughter Mrs Earl Schearman of Ainsworth, sons Berkley of Cedar Rapids and Ralph of Brighton, plus five grandchildren and an infant daughter Dorothy and two brothers and a sister. She belonged to the Christian church.

Swine Problems Will Be Farm Class Topic
Swine problems will be the subject for discussion at the adult farmers evening class to be held in the high school Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock. The next three sessions of the adult classes sponsored by the vocational agriculture department will cover swine breeding feeding and management. Farmers are asked to bring questions and experiences before the group. Anyone interested is invited to attend.
