Jury in Ryan Case Disagrees and Is Returned by Judge

In court this forenoon the Ryan forgery case drew attention as Brookhart for the State and Henderson for the defense argued. The jury, sent out at 10 a.m., returned at 2:30 p.m. having disagreed and were sent back by the judge. Jas Clark faced a gambling house charge, given until tomorrow to plead. The State vs Finney was dismissed at defendant’s cost. Lown vs Rootts larceny moves to trial this afternoon. A man jailed thirty days for excessive drinking. fine suspended on good behavior. Ottumwa dispatch: a Milwaukee freight struck a Q train at Milwaukee crossings, two cars off track, two hours delay. Gene Anderson aboard. A child reportedly lost turned out to be a branch freight rider who walked three miles home.
