Funeral services for D. Rodney Davis a 50 year old Washington insurance agent and former farmer will be held Friday at 4 00 PM at the Methodist church in Washington. Burial will follow at Elm Grove cemetery. Davis died Wednesday afternoon November 17 after a period of illness. He was born August 2 1898 in Keota and later worked as a life insurance agent. Survivors include his wife two daughters his mother a sister and two grandsons. Jones Funeral Home of Washington is in charge.

Funeral services are planned for Nellie L. Tripp 75 at 10:36 Friday morning at Sherman’s funeral home with Dr. George Kerr officiating. A lifelong Washington resident, she was active in church and community groups including the United Presbyterian church W.E. O and D A R Fortnightly club and was employed in the Eicher Livingston law office for 48 years before retiring. She was born April 18 1872 and survived by her brother Dr L R Tripp of Sioux City. another brother Clarence preceded her in death. Wallace held on DUI charge after Washington crash
Orin Wallace Jr of Washington is held to await a Justice of the Peace on $200 bond for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after a collision north of Washington. Sheriff H M Putnam captured him after the accident when his car struck a bridge rail beside the highway. The rail damaged the vehicle.
