Dr Moncure D Conway noted preacher author died in his bed in Paris after rooms were entered due to absence. Reports say internal hemorrhage caused death. Conway born in Virginia 1882, alumnus of Dickinson College and Harvard Divinity. earlier Methodist pastor turned Unitarian writer and lecturer.
The Cuban political scene features four parties led by Jose Miguel Gomez Alfredo Zayas General Mario Menocal and the Palma moderates. Most factions oppose February elections preferring U S provisional rule with Jose Miguel Gomez favored by Gomez loyalists and a rival split within the Liberals. Washington reports anticipate public dissatisfaction with any election outcome.
Eight thousand foreigners mainly Hungarians and Italians have departed Cleveland for Europe in a month, per steamship brokers. They carry about $800,000 in cash, with hundreds more ready to depart if their bank savings can be retrieved.

Huntsville Texas November 18. The town mayor, troubled by ill health, shot himself in the heart and died within moments. He was 53 years old.
Theodore Louis a writer and lecturer on agricultural topics died in Menominee Wisconsin. He worked for the Wisconsin Agricultural Experiment Station and the United States Department of Agriculture for many years. Born Duisburg on the Rhine December 4 1829.
President Roosevelt invites governors to a White House conference on May 13 14 and 15 to discuss conserving natural resources. The plan includes inviting members of Congress inland waterways officials and select experts to attend and present facts and conditions. Cortelyou to issue 50 million in Panama bonds to aid finances.
During a west and south tour the president stated that no issue is more critical than conserving natural resources. He urged inventories and forecasting to avoid depleting these resources, warning that abundance is waning and some resources are already exhausted.
Secretary Cortelyou announced a $50,000,000 Panama bond issue with a $100,000,000 one year certificate program. Bond proceeds support bank circulation and gold payable bonds at par with 2 percent interest. Certificates bear 3 percent, aimed at urgent needs including crop movement and rapid financial relief.
Circuit Judge C. H. Wisner ruled for plaintiff Charles M. Stone of New York and his stockholder group, ending months of litigation over the Pontiac Oxford and Northern Railway valued around 1 million dollars and ordered the road’s sale.

Sheep and lambs at 200 to 6 69 for western lambs and 72 for yearlings. overall market mixed with some strength in cattle and weakness in hogs.
A farmer near Wabash Indiana credited his dog with saving him from a dangerous situation as floodwaters surged. The report notes the animal aided the farmer to safety, preventing a possible fatal outcome. Local witnesses say the dog acted quickly to guide him to higher ground amid rising water.

He reports evidence of illegal overloans overdrafts forged papers and related criminal transactions. The Borough Bank of Brooklyn and Jenkins Trust Company figures show over loans to John G Jenkins Jr totaling large sums.
Frank McLaughlin a prominent financier shot his wife Agnes in a temple and died by suicide with acid. Agnes is alive but unconscious with no prospect of recovery. McLaughlin was financially distressed and threatened to end it all.
