The Sth army war crimes investigator, Col. James M. Hanley, said 6 270 UN prisoners were killed by the Communists in Korea. He announced the figure in Pusan during an exclusive interview as two U S officers arrived. Hanley also cited 7 000 of the victims as South Koreans.

Pallbearers were Carlton Kenton Stanley and Wayne Mangold Merle and Marion Sheetz all grandsons of the deceased. Burial was in Elm Grove cemetery.
Over 150 pledges of one pint each were received by the Washington county Red Cross at 10 o clock Thursday in response to a national radio appeal for blood donations for soldiers in Korea. A few more pledges were still being added in the Washington office Friday morning.
