Wreck Kills Fifteen on Cincinnati Railroad Line
A Cincinnati Hamilton and Dayton passenger train collided head on with a freight train at Arlington Avenue Irvington Indianapolis. Fifteen killed fourteen seriously injured. Brakeman Carl Gross admitted he left the switch open. The crash sparked a fire and many victims found in the first car wreckage. Among the dead are Chester Chaney and several Chaney family members from Jackson Kentucky. Injured include Clifton Chaney and others. The wreck delayed for hours as firemen battled the blaze.
