Five children die in Georgia fire near Alabama border
In West Point Georgia five children aged one to five burned to death in a bed fire blamed on an untended open fireplace. Four other children escaped as the aunt left to light a heater and the mother was at work with two fireplaces burning. Authorities identified the victims as Tylas Rendell Murphy Demetrice Murphy Frederick Murphy Marsha Bailey and Anthony Murphy. Police Chief Harvey Thompson said the children were siblings and investigation continued.
