Authorities suspect a well organized gang operates in the area as similar fake coins appear in southern county towns. Senator Beveridge owns autographs including a Kruger letter foretelling current war.
Northwestern Railway starts traffic on two Iowa routes the Soldier Valley line linking Mondamin to Kiron with service to Wall Lake a seventy one mile stretch. The Harlan extension triggers a clash with Rock Island as both roads race to control Shelby county and northern corridor. Sioux City observers note the dispute could decide the Rock Island Pacific termination in the region.
At Wisconsin Madison on November 18 the investigation into a Halloween raid on the young women’s dormitory continued.
