Awards At County 4 H Jamboree In Washington
The annual county wide 4 H jamboree at the YMCA in Washington drew 225 4 H members on Saturday evening November 10. The program opened with a mixer and square dancing followed by folk games as Artemas Brown led the high school group and Mrs Melvin Booth oversaw the Junior union group. Elections selected officers for boys and girls groups for the coming year with Howard Born Wellman president for the boys and Isabelle Way president for the girls. Leaders awards honored long time 4 H volunteers including Mrs Melvin Booth Diamond Clover pin for 15 years service and other Clover pins for 10 to 14 years.

Amanda Pulver Mangold Sr of Dutch Creek Township died at her home this morning after a year of declining health she had lived in Washington 33 years. Surviving children include Howard Mangold Harold Mangold Bernice Sheetz and Mrs W W Weller with 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Her husband Fred Mangold died in 1942. Funeral arrangements are pending at Sherman’s funeral home.
