Herman Liebbe, 55, of Muscatine, was seriously burned when a blaze tore through the West Burlington Walnut Co. factory at midnight Tuesday. The $25,000 loss included nearly 50 band saws and planers, five unused, with the plant turning out ordnance material. Liebbe and two workers were on the second floor asleep as flames gutted the building.
