Rainfall totals mark Washington weather shift and hunt incident
More than half an inch of rain drenched Washington in the 24 hours ending 7 am. The official total was .67 inch with an additional .09 inch earlier, bringing a several day total to .76 inch. Skies cleared but temperatures stayed cool as Allen Mikson of Crawfordsville recovered from a hunting accident two miles south of Ainsworth, treated for a gunshot wound to the upper arm and shoulder by a 30.06 rifle. Vince Smith, also from Washington, admits firing the shot. Miksch was listed in satisfactory condition. Tim Carr of Washington won the area pass punt and kick contest and advances to the national round in December in Washington, D. C. He is 12, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Carr. The national finalists proceed to the pro football playoff in December 29.
