Two Escape from Spencer County Jail
SPENCER Irvin Wilson 25 and Oral Wilson 20 brothers escaped from Clay county jail Sunday night by a skylight and a telephone pole. They had pleaded guilty to forgery and each drew a sentence not to exceed 10 years in Fort Madison penitentiary. They were to be taken there this week. Both had prior Missouri prison time. Irvin finished his sentence there and was released earlier this year. Oral completed his sentence there a week before being arrested on a new charge.

Mother of Five Children Killed in Road Crash
Mrs Maude Perkins 50 wife of Clarence Perkins Fremont farmer died at Mahaska hospital from injuries suffered in a Friday night collision of two cars. The driver in the other car was Robert Wolfe also of Fremont. Five persons were injured including Mrs Perkins daughters Dorothy 15 and Marilyn 11. She is survived by her husband and five children.
