Fairfield Column Describes Iowa Crash Victims
A column notes 18 year old Larry Coughlan son of Mr and Verne Coughlan was killed or seriously injured when his car overturned eight miles west of Fairfield and plunged over a ten foot embankment. Hazel Wells 16 and Betty Jo Avery 16 both of Packwood also suffered injuries.
Fire destroys building on No Main Street in Charles City
A Sunday blaze leveled a frame structure at No Main Street in Charles City. Mr and Mrs Paul Jackson and their infant were forced from their second floor quarters. The fire damaged Jacksons barber shop and hat cleaning establishment on the first floor. Owner was Mrs Gertrude Lloyd.

Tool maker killed in Davenport head on crash
