Clarence C. Tripp, who has been residing in Chicago, spent Sunday in Monmouth visiting local contacts and checking on affairs in the area.
Two suspects stole butter and were apprehended by Brighton police after a brief pursuit. Officers recovered the contraband and detained the individuals for questioning.
Two strangers cashed a Mt. Pleasant creamery butter payment in a Mt. Pleasant grocery. Jefferson county officers traced the butter theft to a Brighton linked case and planned Fairfield trial. Nearby, the Board of Supervisors met as canvass proceeds. Gale Fox Trafton, five month old son of Mr. and Mrs. R Trafton, died. funeral in Brighton.
