One Man Show of H E Busby Paintings at Library
The Wash ington Public Library hosts an exhibit of about 50 original oil paintings by local artist H E Busby from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday Thursday and Saturday this week. It is the library's first solo show by a local artist with rural town scenes and landscapes. Busby, a retired manufacturer, describes his technique as detailed yet not meticulous with a bright palette and memories blended into each scene. Mrs Abner Christner 72 of Sharon community north of Kalona died of a heart attack at her Kalona home. Funeral services are pending with Yoder Funeral Home. Born March 15 1888 in Johnson County she lived in Illinois before marrying Abner Christner in Kalona November 13 1921. Surviving: husband three sons George Millersburg Alvin Rural Route 3 Iowa City Joseph at home a daughter Esther Fuller Crookston Minnesota two sisters Mrs Monroe Miller Millersburg and Mrs Eli Miller Hicksville. She was a Conservative Mennonite Church member.

Charges Filed After Crash North Of Ainsworth
West Point resident Edwin H. Menke was charged with improper passing after a two car collision on highway 218 one mile north of the 218 92 junction east of Ainsworth. Damages were about 1300 dollars with no injuries. Charles L. Markwell of Occidental Ill spun into a ditch and struck a telephone pole after being sideswiped. Highway Patrolman James Ri chart investigated the 4 45 PM Sunday crash.

Mrs Utica Salena Adams 80 died Sunday morning at her daughter’s home in Wellman after a period of illness. Funeral services are set for Tuesday at 1 30 pm at Wellman Baptist Church with Rev Jerry Beltz officiating. She was born March 14 1889 in Wapello, married Jesse Adams in 1896.
