No Grand Jury Again This Term

The November term of the Washington county district court will have no grand jury. Judge J. G. Patterson and County Attorney George Morrison agreed to notify petit jurors to report on Monday November 27 for possible trials, including a murder case moved from Oskaloosa. British Diplomat Shot in Cairo Attack Wounds Lord Moyne

In Cairo on November 6 Lord Moyne the British minister resident in the Middle East was attacked by two revolver wielding men. Moyne was badly wounded and taken to a hospital. Moyne's military chauffeur was killed and the two assailants were arrested by Egyptian police.

Death of Chicago Resident Thomas R. Wolf at 84

Thomas R. Wolf of Chicago aged 84 died suddenly Saturday evening. Funeral services will be in Chicago at 11 tomorrow. Cremation follows and ashes will be interred at Elm Grove cemetery in Washington. Born June 27, 1860, he was son of Samuel and Anna Wolf and raised in Washington. He was the family’s last member. he leaves behind siblings Charles, Mag, and Lida noted by Washington residents.
