Chicago reports Missouri shows Taft with a 2288 edge and Maryland tilts Democratic or Taft depending on final counts. Nationally Republicans lead the next House by about 41 seats as returns from districts keep shifting.
In Illinois Taft leads in total votes with 605 44 to Bryan 443 551 and Deneen 535 569 behind Taft by about 150 000. Stevenson carries Cook County by 15 397 as Republicans win a large Senate and House majority amid questions on a 20 million deep waterway bond and a banking law amendment.
Baltimore reports the official canvass on election day shows Maryland likely to split its eight electoral votes. Both parties refuse to concede with canvassing in 21 of 25 counties completed outside Baltimore and half done in the city. Taft leads in Baltimore by 1,967 with a 167 gain in the city.
Official county returns show Taft leading Bryan by 479 votes in Missouri with 114 of 115 counties tallied. Herbert S. Hadley leads the state ticket for governor, while both parties claim victory. Nationwide results indicate Taft leads in New York and Wisconsin, with varied outcomes in other states.
Edwin Van Dyck ex ink expert of the bureau of engraving and printing and Victor G. Bloede, Baltimore president, were indicted for conspiracy to defraud the United States over ink contracts. Van Dyck withdrew his not guilty plea and pleaded guilty to two counts. Justice Gould fined Van Dyck ten thousand dollars, paid promptly. remaining counts were dismissed.
William Ault aged 59 was killed and Mrs. William Dowden fatally injured when struck by a freight train on a railroad bridge in Fort Wayne Indiana on November 6.
The second squadron under Rear Admiral Emory leaves Amoy after a port call that drew large crowds and costly receptions. China saluted the ships as they steamed toward Olongapo, while Britain weighs a world voyage for its fleet.

Havana November 6 reports ex President Tomas Estrada Palma died at a relative’s home in Santiago province from gastroneuritis complicated by pneumonia. Governor Madeon issued a decree praising the first Cuban president and ordering a national funeral with lying in state at the provincial council chamber in Santiago and a period of national mourning.
Mrs. Pride and other alleged night riders are detained in Thien City Nevis under band. Mrs Pride, once secretary of the organization, is said to have been brutally whipped and now opposes the group while seeking to uncover its secrets.
Lansing Mich Nov 6 The Supreme Court denied the writ by Thomas J Mahon to compel Wayne County Circuit Judge Joseph W Donovan to issue a preliminary injunction against the Detroit Baseball Co to stop Sunday games in Detroit.
In Princeton Indiana on November 6 WH Ham Chester and his brother were cleaning a loaded shotgun for a celebration when it discharged. William Chester, aged 48, a preacher, lost the calf of his leg and died from bleeding. The incident occurred during the preparation for an election celebration.
Market notes show hog receipts around 30 000 with mixed packs at 5 40 to 6 25 and light hogs lower. Cattle and sheep activity listed with shipments yesterday and estimated receipts today, reflecting steady cattle and strong sheep demand, with western and Texas stock movements and prices across light to heavy grades.
In Princeton Illinois on November 6 Professor Peter Kramer of St Louis died after his balloon ascended and struck the Methodist church chimney. A brick fell from the wrecked chimney injuring seven year old Glen Hayden who suffered a fractured skull and may die. About a thousand witnesses watched the event at 4 p.m.

Charles W. Morse former finance figure and Alfred H. Curtis ex-president of the National Bank of North America were found guilty in the U S circuit court of misapplication of funds and falsifying bank books The jury spared no mercy on Morse but recommended clemency for Curtis and both were ordered jailed in the Tombs until further proceedings.
John Ott, former Bartholomew county poor farm superintendent and now a farmer near Lowell, Indiana, drilled a deep well on his farm with Safe Burns. At about fifty feet a rich vein of coal was found, about twenty five feet thick, with experts calling it as good as any on the market. Prospects suggest the vein may extend into a hill, sparking hope of a major local coal mine.
Geneseo New York, November 6. Miss Ethel Roosevelt was riding in the Genesee Valley Club fox hunt when her saddle slipped at a fence. The fractious horse threatened a fall, but Harry Wilson of Geneseo arrived to regain control and prevent a mishap.
Seven Italian workers were killed and three badly injured when dynamite charges exploded during blasting on the Grand Trunk Pacific railroad near Dryden Manitoba. The men were in a deep cut and the electric battery triggered the blast.
