Cedar Rapids Visitor Orders Swift Patent Furnace in Washington

Henry Besler of Cedar Rapids, a business visitor in Washington yesterday, ordered one of Swift's patent furnaces. R. W. Sea of Topeka, Kansas, is a registered guest at Hotel Allen. Snow heavy on routes from Chicago to Rock Island. Joliet reports good sleighing. Mr. Feather of Aledo, Illinois, was in the city yesterday.

Dougherty Hise Nuptials In South Washington

At the home of Mr and Mrs Aaron Hise in south Washington a social wedding united Miss Leonora Hise to Mr Clayce Dougherty in an evening ceremony. A large reception followed with gifts for the couple to adorn their Dougherty Bros home. The couple and guests included out of town relatives and friends from West Liberty Fairfield and Oelwein.

Highlanders Escape Runaway near City After Returns

A party of Highlanders returning home northeast of the city after hearing returns yesterday morning experienced a runaway. Samuel Anderson drove. the team pranced and kicked, a son jumped out, the others stayed with the driver as the wagon split in two and the group rolled free. The team fled eight miles before a post blocked their path, causing a turn toward town.
