On November 4 a nationwide strike was declared in St Petersburg while railway workers return to service. Riots spread from Odessa to Warsaw and Kiev with massacres of Jews reported. officials warn casualties are likely exaggerated. The czar’s amnesty ukase is signed and municipal leaders greet the new freedoms.

Allentown on November 4 reported Charles M. Schwab attended a funeral and satisfied a mortgage noted as the largest ever recorded in Lehigh county. The $10,000 mortgage was issued by United Shipbuilding Company to the nalTrust Company of New York.
