Des Moines Man George W. McChurch Dies at 75
George W. McChurch, 75, of Des Moines died Friday morning after months of illness. Funeral set for 3:30 p.m. Monday at Jane Funeral Home with burial in Elm Grove Cemetery. He was born January 15, 1883, in Des Moines and previously lived in Davenport and Washington before moving to Des Moines ten years ago. Survivors include his wife Ethel Singleton, six children, a stepdaughter and stepson, eighteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, a brother and two sisters.

Manchester Youth Drowns While Swimming at Pond
A 19 year old Manchester youth, Jan Speed, drowned while attempting to swim across a pond formed by the Maquoketa River near Manchester. A fire department rescue squad worked for 112 hours but could not revive him. He was with a girl and another couple at a picnic when the accident occurred.

Hold Duncan Funeral in Cedar Rapids Today
Funeral services for Dale Duncan will be held at 3 30 p m Saturday May 31 in the Turner Funeral Chapel Cedar Rapids. Duncan a former Washington resident and brother of Tom Duncan of Washington died in an auto accident near Clarence.
