Tama, May 24. The Tama Building and Loan Association, one of the state's oldest, marks 31 years of operation. The cooperative group has never defaulted, has matured stock totaling a quarter million dollars, and more than 200 residents have financed homes through the fund. Series W matured at 68.25 per share with a $100 par value, yielding a $31.75 gain. Average borrower interest runs just over 5.9 percent. C. H. Tanner of the Union Pacific is secretary, the only salaried officer.

Well Known Pleasant Plain Man Is Dead
David H. Mealey of Pleasant Plain died at 11 30 am after a long illness from paralysis. He ran a Pleasant Plain drug store for forty years and was active in Pleasant Plain and Brighton. Waterloo May 24. Wit Anderson a young farmer near DeWar escaped serious injury when hogs tore his clothing and lacerated his body after he slipped from a horse in the pasture.
