The Chamber of Commerce recently hosted two new families in Washington. Rev. Raymond Reed and Rev. Earl Longfellow and their wives and children have settled here to fill pulpits at the Methodist and Baptist churches. The Reeds, from Council Bluffs, reside at 509 W. Washington with children Charles 16 Douglas 18 and Clark 3. they plan to attend local high and junior high schools. The Longfellows live at 114 East Second street with Stevie 6 Roy 4 and Paul 15 months. Stevie will attend Stewart School. Longfellow is a Lions Club member.

Two Injured in Car Truck Collision at Ainsworth Junction
In a morning crash at Ainsworth Junction two people were hurt. Otis Steeples Jr of Fort Madison suffered minor injuries, while his mother Juanita Steeples was taken to a Fort Madison hospital with head and neck injuries. The other driver, Jack Henson of Mediapolis, was uninjured. Damages totaled about 300 dollars. Investigating officers included the Washington county patrol and sheriff deputies. No charges were filed.
